Difficulties break some men but make others – NELSON MANDELA

Sorry, guys, it’s been a minute since I posted my spin playlist on here.  Been wrapped up in this holiday festivities lately, but that’s really no excuse.  Thanks for being patient and checking back often.  Below is my playlist from last night – some old, some new.  My new fave find is Blood Orange.  You gotta check out his latest album “Cupid Deluxe” – lots of funky disco beats and chill vibes.

Also, I want to share with you my mixes I recently recorded – not quite spin music, but good music to play in the background at work or at a dinner party.  Hope you enjoy and follow me on twitter (@im_thatsomebody) and soundcloud (@im_thatsomebody).  All my mixes are posted on my page at http://www.soundcloud.com/im_thatsomebody, but my latest one is below.  Give your ears some lovin’ and hit that play button!

If You Can’t Convince Them, Confuse Them

photo (30)

Most of you know, my passion for music is unlike any other and it only continues to grow as days pass.  This past weekend was a memorable night for me – graduating from DJ school and making my first live debut.  One of the primary reasons I enjoy teaching spin is of course helping people get in shape and live healthy lives, but I want people to have fun and enjoy the music while they’re bustin’ their ass off.  It seems to be working… because I continually see the same faces week after week.  There’s definitely a growing bond among my spin class that’s unlike any other.  Thanks to all who came to support me.  I will post that mix from my night soon for you to download and share.

In the meantime, here is my spin playlist from last night:

Mo Money Mo Problems

Nothing beats the 90s.  It’s my era.  It’s when music really meant something to me more than just background noise — when the lyrics had meaning, and I could sing along to.  This era developed the foundation to what I love and listen to today.   I’ve always wanted to incorporate this era into my spin classes, but found it challenging.  1) it’s tough to really sprint to 2) there’s a plethora of songs – which ones do I choose 3) jumping is out of the question 4) it’s a very niche genre and could disappoint a good number of people… but you know what, screw that!  I’m teaching the class, so I’m gonna play what I want…bahaha
